In The Crystal Highlands of Armaria, a miscast spell can leave a permanent mark, though not always a scar. Tadateru learned this the hard way. The perfectly formed slice of cake that now sits atop their head is not confectionary, but crystallized ambition from a failed levitation charm. Every evening, as the monoliths cast long shadows, they practice with the Mega Sabre, a blade of pure force. Their instructor sighs, pointing out their balance is off. "It's the cake," Tadateru insists, adjusting their specs. They refuse to have it dispelled, determined to master the heavy blade with this ridiculous handicap. The other trainees find it amusing, but the wizards who watch the sunsets see a different kind of magic at work: stubborn, foolish, and utterly unbreakable.
