Gunshirou #731
Gunshirou’s carved cane tells a story of everywhere they have been, but the smooth, unmarked section near the grip tells the story of why they wander. That space used to hold their village emblem, before Azamuku’s silver-tongued promises led them away and left their home vulnerable. The deceiver taught Gunshirou that an open face is a liability, hence the kitsune mask, the ninja wrap, the shades. They did not expect to find a companion in The Heart of the Forest, much less one who chattered enough for two. A small, irrepressibly cheerful local named Poko appointed themself Gunshirou's guide, despite Gunshirou never stating a destination. Now, one walks in silence and the other fills it, pointing out the best berry patches with a sincerity that chips away at old walls.
